History of the Village

Above is a piece of History – see the site as it was in 1968 when it opened! At that time the  village  consisted  of  69  bungalows  built in 1968-69. A  further  25 bungalows, to a different design, built during 1978-79. The bungalows built in 1978/79 have recently been extended by the site owner together with some of the 69 bungalows  built  in 1968 69.  In addition there is a large car park and various site facilities including an indoor  swimming pool, sauna,  club  room,  games  room, reception  area,  shop,  laundry  room,  outdoor  tennis  courts, pitch  and  putt  and  children’s play area.

In 2011, Widemouth Leisure Enterprises Ltd, sold the leasehold of the Village   facilities,   including   the   management   of   the   Club   and   the   management  of  holiday  lettings  for  consortium  members  to  Cornish  Coast  Holidays Ltd. Their owners are Ian, Deana and Tom Aldenton. (Village facilities ownership now reverted back to Widemouth Leisure Enterprises Ltd. in October 2019)

The  freehold  of  the  Widemouth  Bay  Holiday  Village site  is  still  owned  by  Widemouth  Leisure  Enterprises  Ltd., c/o Kents Mill, Stags Head Cross, Dulverton, Somerset TA22 9JJ. T: 01398 322921 E: leisure2015@btinternet.com who will invoice for and collect the ground rent from all leaseholders.
