Local Area

Widemouth Bay, located on the North Cornish Coast, is a village which mainly consists of bungalows built in the twentieth century, however it’s history harks back to the age of smugglers and many inlets and coves can be found along the local coastline. Other prominent tourist destinations such as Crackington Haven, Boscastle and Tintagel are within a 30 minute drive of Widemouth Bay.


Eating and Drinking

There are many cafe’s, restaurants and pubs in the village, a Sunday carvery can easily be found either side of the Bay! There are many residential properties and holiday lets throughout the quiet village. Shops and other amenities are within a 10 minute drive in the local town of Bude.

Activities

Adventure activities are easy to find and do in the local area. Surfing is a very popular draw and Widemouth Bay is favoured by surfers and bodyboarders of all abilities. The coast also offers opportunities to embark on adventures such as abseiling, coasteering, getting on your bike or going for a walk as long as you like.

Surfing

Cornwall is known for its Atlantic waves. Widemouth is 2 miles south of Bude and enjoys good surf. See the surf cam on our welcome page. Widemouth has Life Guards on duty during the summer. Below is a link to other lovely beaches in Cornwall.

Buses stop outside the site going toward Wadebridge and outside the  Manor  Hotel  going  toward Bude.    A  leaflet  giving  latest  information  is  available  at  Bude
